Red, White, and Blue for You

Festive holidays can always be a bit tricky to dress for:  you can choose to don your finest themed apparel – and run the risk of looking like a five-year-old - or not dress up at all and run the risk of looking out of place when everyone else is red, white, and blue-in’ it up.  If only there were a happy medium, right?

This weekend, embrace a festive outfit without feeling too cheesy and childish. The key to the perfect 4th of July outfit is to choose two colors to focus on and leave the other as an accent color so your look won’t be overwhelming. A blue and white gingham blouse by ZARA works as the focal point of the look, while a pair of silk J. Crew shorts keep things simple. Add a couple of subtle dashes of red with some Michael Kors thong sandals and Gucci aviators, and you can strut your American self in style long after the last firework.

Zara Blurred Print T-Shirt ($30). J.Crew Frankie Short in Embroidered Sequins ($47). Tory Burch Marion Quilted Cross-Body Bag in Normandy Blue ($250). MICHAEL Michael Kors London Thong Sandal ($145). Chanel J12 White Gem-Set Gold Watch. Gucci Aviator Sunglasses ($295).
